Mark Hamblin is a freelance wildlife/nature photographer from Warwickshire, who specialises in taking photographs of scenic settings and wildlife throughout the world, though many of his photographs are focused in Scotland. I chose his photographs to inspire my own work as in many of his images he captures the reflection of the setting in the water, which I think enhances each of his photographs.
I personally think water is a good medium for capturing reflections as it creates a very clear image of the subject matter in the water, and when the water is still it can almost create an illusion of an inverted object/setting, which makes the contrast between what is a reflection and what is not, unclear, which is demonstrated in Hamblin's photographs. This makes the photographs interesting and creates a more abstract piece.
